MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Mark Villar on Labor Day called for the passage of two bills seeking to reduce job-hunting costs and address job-skills mismatch among Filipino workers. Villar cited Senate Bill No. 1272, or the proposed Kabalikat sa Hanapbuhay Act, and Senate Bill No. 1295, which seeks to create a tripartite council composed of government, employer and worker representatives. “Labor Day is a time to honor the hard work and sacrifices of our workers (manggagawa).
