JERUSALEM — A French nun was assaulted near Jerusalem’s Old City, shoved onto a rock and repeatedly kicked near a site revered by Christians and Jews, amid a rise in attacks targeting Christians in Israel and the Palestinian territories. Israeli police said they arrested a 36-year-old man suspected of the assault but declined to disclose his nationality. Eyewitnesses said the assailant was a Jewish man. Police released video of the incident showing bruising on the right side of the nun’s face. The attacker was wearing tzitzit, fringed ritual garments worn by some observant Jewish men.
