Detour bridge in Ilocos Sur collapses due to overloaded truck

MANILA, Philippines — A detour bridge in Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur, collapsed after an overloaded 10-wheeler truck attempted to cross it, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said. The DPWH, in a statement, said the truck, weighing some 20 tons, made its way to the Kaliwet Bailey Bridge in Barangay Nalasin which had a five-ton load limit.
