HEAT INDEX WATCH: 13 PH areas forecast to hit danger level on May 4

MANILA, Philippines — At least 13 areas are expected to reach “danger” level heat indices on Monday, May 4, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. Heat index is the heat felt by the human body when air temperature and humidity are combined. Once it ranges from 42ºC to 51ºC, Pagasa automatically categorizes it as “danger” level due to increased risks of heat cramps and heat exhaustion, which could lead to heat stroke.
