Atin Ito holds jetski flag ride in Pag-asa Island

MANILA, Philippines — Civil society coalition Atin Ito said on Sunday it conducted the first jetski flag ride in Pag-asa Island. Akbayan Rep. Dadah Kiram Ismula led the activity. On Sunday, a team led by Ismula with Atin Ito volunteers made a dawn voyage to Pag-asa Cay 2 (Sandy Cay). "We successfully raised our flag at Pag-asa Cay 2 despite the heavy presence of China," she said. The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Sunday commended the coalition for their successful and courageous civilian-led mission to Pag-asa Island. “The successful navigation to our features, culminating in the planting of the Philippine Flag on Sandy Cay, is a profound testament to the indomitable spirit of the Filipino people. This is not merely a symbolic gesture; it is a powerful assertion of our sovereign rights and a demonstration of active citizenship in the face of external challenges,” retired Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad, AFP spokesman for WPS, said in a statement. Trinidad said that the mission “amplifies the voice of our fisherfolk and local communities.” The Atin Ito Coalition made its fourth voyage to Pagasa Island from April 30 to May 5.
