"Colombian authorities seized a shipment of 350 kilograms of cocaine this Sunday in the department of La Guajira, in the north of the country. According to information released by the National Police of Colombia via social media, the drug bust valued at 1.920 billion Colombian pesos (around 527 thousand dollars) was found inside a vehicle. Footage released by National Police of Colombia, the date and time of which could not be independently verified, shows the vehicle, its boot loaded with packages purported to be bricks of cocaine, while officers pose for pictures. The authorities had not provided further details on the seizure at the time of publication. On April 20, the National Police seized more than half a tonne of cocaine hidden in a tractor-trailer, a haul with an estimated value of 3.7 billion Colombian pesos (one $1 million USD). La Guajira is a key drug trafficking area in Colombia due to its strategic location in the Caribbean, bordering Venezuela, and extensive coasts for maritime shipments to the US, Europe and the Caribbean."
