GameStop makes $56 billion takeover bid for eBay

NEW YORK, United States —US video game retailer GameStop made an unsolicited takeover bid on Sunday to buy online marketplace eBay for about $55.5 billion, it said in a release. Gamestop, which has said it wants to turn eBay into a competitor to e-commerce giant Amazon, is offering $125 per share in a combination of stock and cash.
