MANILA, Philippines – Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) saw a modest profit growth in the first three months of 2026, with its power generation unit giving a lift following weaker sales volume of distribution business. In a media briefing Monday, the Pangilinan-led power firm said its consolidated core net income had inched up by just 2 percent to P11.426 billion from P11.172 billion a year earlier.
