"Thousands gathered at Nishtar Park on Sunday to mark the 'Arbaeen' mourning ceremony for Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, expressing solidarity with his successor, Mojtaba. Footage shows participants waving Iranian, Palestinian and Pakistani flags, while holding portraits of the late leader and his successor. Chants of 'Labbaika Ya Hussain' were heard, alongside performances on stage. "Those responsible for the suffering of people in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, and for the killing of Rehbar-e-Shaheed (Leader Martyr), must be held accountable. We call for justice through international law, and demand that all alleged crimes be investigated and prosecuted at the International Criminal Court. There can be no lasting peace without accountability," said Allama Syed Sadiq Raza Taqvi, a Shia religious scholar. "We are here to participate in the chehlum of the martyred rehbar e Azam Ali Khamenei. It's not only the chehlum of rehbar e Azam, but we are also here to show solidarity with the government of Iran, the people of Iran," one participant said. Ali Khamenei was killed in a US-Israeli strike in Iran, with his son, Mujtaba Khamenei, selected as his successor on March 8. The United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28. Iran responded with retaliatory strikes on Israel and US assets in the region. On April 8, Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran, paving the way for negotiations to end the conflict, later extending it 'until Tehran presents its proposals,' with no deadlines. Pakistan-mediated talks between the United States and Iran, held on April 11, ended without a breakthrough. The second round has yet to materialise. "
