"The fifth and largest-ever edition of the 'Make It In The Emirates 2026' kicked off in Abu Dhabi, on Monday, with thousands of participants and over 1,200 exhibitors packed into the venue. Footage shows visitors marvelling at the massive exhibition, as well as the vast array of products on display - such as drones made by 'Enata' and 'Infinity Glory', and autonomous smart vehicles from 'Micropolis Robotics' bearing the Dubai Police logo. An AI-powered air taxi from MLG bearing the logo of the government’s 'Abu Dhabi Advanced Air Mobility Authority' can also be seen. "We're here at Make It In The Emirates. Despite the current circumstances, we came to emerge stronger with the UAE government. In fact, we today were here to represent the largest pipe that we can manufacture in the factory here in the UAE. We started four decades ago, and we have 11 factories," said Omar Al Busaidi, Head of Future Pipe Industries in the UAE and Oman. Al Busaidi explained that their products "are used in multiple different applications. We're in water, in oil and gas, hydrogen, and we're slowly moving into new sectors, including the data centers, and particularly with liquid cooling". Amer Adnan Ghazal, a robotics engineer at Micropolis Robotics, spoke about his company's mission in 'automating operations such as logistics and surveillance, along with a wide range of advanced solutions and services provided', noting that the company’s clients include the Dubai Police and the UAE’s giant EDGE Group, which specialises in the defence industry. Ghazal emphasised that through their participation in the 'Make It In The Emirates', "the message our company tries to provide is that we are fully capable of 100% local manufacturing that meet global standards and are built on world-class expertise". The event is expected to attract around 120,000 visitors over its four days from May 4-7, with government ministers, business leaders, investors, industrialists and innovators all taking part. The exhibition space totals around 88,000 square metres, a 30% increase compared to last year, whilst the number of exhibitors has risen to 1,245, a 73% increase compared to 2025, representing the seven emirates of the UAE". The platform also features more than 2,000 specialist small producers, showcasing over 5,000 products, and more than 50 sessions, panel discussions and workshops, with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs accounting for over 60 per cent of participants. The platform covers 12 priority industrial sectors, including advanced manufacturing, energy, aviation, defence, pharmaceuticals, mobility and sustainable materials."
