Auckland Airport security breach disrupts international terminal travel processing

Auckland International Airport has been disrupted after a security breach. There were large lines of passengers waiting to go through security at midday after the incident earlier today. This comes almost three weeks after a passenger in a restricted area sparked a security incident at the domestic terminal. An Auckland Airport spokesperson said the safety and security of the airport’s operation is their priority. “This morning security processing at the international terminal was disrupted following a security breach, which caused some delays for travellers,” they said. “The situation has now been resolved and security processing has resumed. “We thank travellers for their patience.” Passengers have been caught up in disruption after a security breach at Auckland Airport's international terminal. One passenger told the Herald they had been stuck at security for hours, with little information from authorities. In mid-April, hundreds of passengers were forced to return through security after a security breach at the domestic terminal. A Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson said a passenger accessed a restricted area without being security screened. A witness at the time claimed a passenger who was allowed to bypass security to board a departing flight was behind the scare.
