"The US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Monday released footage of F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jets preparing and taking off from the USS Abraham Lincoln as part of efforts to enforce a naval blockade on Iranian ports amid the ongoing standoff at the Strait of Hormuz. Footage shows personnel guiding the supersonic aircraft prior to takeoff. The exact date and location of the footage shared by CENTCOM could not be independently verified. "Lincoln is one of two aircraft carriers enforcing the blockade on Iranian ports while also supporting Project Freedom," CENTCOM posted on X (formerly Twitter). CENTCOM said more than 100 land- and sea-based aircraft were deployed as part of Washington's ongoing 'Project Freedom'. It comes as US President Donald Trump initiated a blockade of Iran's ports after Iran said it would shut down the Strait to 'unfriendly' countries amid an ongoing standoff between the two sides. This follows joint US-Israeli military action against Iran from February 28, which triggered retaliatory strikes and continuing tensions across the Gulf. A ceasefire came into force last month, although talks between the sides have appeared to stall. "
