'I'm still seeing everything in slow motion' - Residents in shock after Brazil air crash as rescuers recover remains from wreckage

"Firefighters and police personnel worked to secure the scene and extract the bodies of the deceased from the wreckage of an aircraft that struck a building in the Silveira neighbourhood of Brazil's Belo Horizonte region on Monday. Footage shows the damage caused to the residential building on Ilacir Pereira Lima street, where residents remain in the street after being evacuated. According to firefighter Major Johnny Franco, authorities are carrying out the gradual extraction of the remains of the deceased, to preserve the bodies as much as possible. "It is the two deceased who are trapped in the aircraft structure. The work is delicate. I cannot specify the time, as it is always a complex scenario and we work with maximum safety concerns, both for our team and for the support teams that are also on site," he explained. He added that three people were transferred to the General Hospital of Belo Horizonte in serious condition, one of whom was reportedly rushed into surgery. Building resident Alva Maria Miranda said she was shaken by the incident. "I'm still seeing everything in slow motion. I'm still like this, in full post-traumatic stress. I can't even speak well, nor reason well," she explained. Army personnel also arrived at the site to support the efforts, while a structural evaluation of the building is being carried out. The cause of the accident has not yet been officially determined."
