"Thousands of people wearing bright orange Magikarp headgear and matching shirts filled Seoul's Ttukseom Hangang Park on Tuesday for Pokemon Run 2026. Footage shows the park packed with runners taking part in 5 km and 8 km non-competitive events. Organisers said 5,000 people joined the run, which was held on South Korea’s Children’s Day as part of the Seoul Spring Festival roadshow and Pokemon 30th anniversary celebrations. “The run was fantastic, but more than that, it was the perfect event to enjoy with family or a partner. I had a wonderful time,” said participant Choi Shin-sung. “I’ve always loved Pokemon, and the lovely weather made my run even better. It was a great way to celebrate Children’s Day, and I’m feeling awesome,” added Lee Joo-ah. The event also featured stage entertainment, photo spots, booths and large-scale Pokemon displays, including a giant Pikachu figure. Finishers received a limited-edition Pikachu plush medal."
