S&P/TSX composite up in late-morning trading, U.S. stock markets also higher

TORONTO — Canada's main stock index was up in late-morning trading, helped by strength in the base metal and financial sectors, while U.S. stock markets also moved higher. The S&P/TSX composite index was up 58.54 points at 33,697.41.
