"A helicopter from the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) experienced a malfunction during takeoff and had to make an emergency landing within seconds at the Fourth Naval Region in Mazatlan, located in the state of Sinaloa. In the images released on Monday, the helicopter is seen hovering a few meters before suddenly descending until it crashes onto the pavement, while some Semar personnel observed the incident. According to the official report from Semar, the unit involved was an MI-17 type helicopter, which experienced a power failure in its main engine, leading to the emergency landing on the dock from which it had taken off. Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries or fatalities from the incident. The MI-17 helicopters are involved in transportation, maritime and land interception tasks. This type of unit has been used to deliver supplies to areas affected by natural disasters, thanks to its large cargo capacity."
