The Pakistan Navy on Tuesday rescued a stranded offshore vessel carrying foreign crew members in the Arabian Sea after it suffered a critical technical failure, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday. The vessel, identified as MV Gautam, was en route from Oman to India when it developed a fault, leaving it adrift at sea. It had seven crew members on board, including six Indians and one Indonesian. Responding to a distress call relayed by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Mumbai, the Pakistan Navy dispatched PMSA Ship Kashmir to the site. The crew was provided with food, medical assistance and technical support to help restore essential systems and ensure their safety. The navy said the operation reflects Pakistan’s commitment to maritime safety and humanitarian obligations, adding that assistance was extended irrespective of the nationality of those on board.
