BPO employee held for alleged theft of company laptop

CEBU CITY, Philippines — A business process outsourcing (BPO) employee remains detained after qualified theft charges were filed against him on Tuesday, May 5, for allegedly taking a company-owned laptop from an office building along Cardinal Rosales Avenue corner Sumilon Road in Cebu City. The case stemmed from an incident on Monday, May 4, when the suspect reportedly took a laptop from the production floor while inside the company premises. The suspect is a 33-year-old customer service representative and a resident of Looc, Lapu-Lapu City.
