"The members of the South Korean K-pop group 'BTS' greeted their Mexican fans this Wednesday from the National Palace, as part of their 'ARIRANG' tour in Mexico City and during a meeting with President Claudia Sheinbaum. The images show fans holding South Korean flags, where the members originate from, as well as photographs and collectible items of the K-pop group, in an atmosphere of euphoria and festivity. "I feel super happy, I'm overwhelmed but very happy. And Mexico is very happy to welcome them," said Andrea, a BTS fan. The visit of the South Korean group to the National Palace was finalized after the Mexican leader contacted the President of South Korea, Lee Jae-myung, to request more concerts from the group due to high demand in the country. The news generated high expectations for the ARMYs (BTS fandom), as in her morning conference this Wednesday, Sheinbaum announced the possibility of the K-pop band greeting their fans from a balcony of the National Palace, as it happened. "I'm very excited to see them," added Carolina, another BTS fan, present in the capital's main square. The band, consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, will offer three concerts on May 7, 9, and 10 at the GNP Seguros stadium, as part of their international 'ARIRANG' tour. According to the National Chamber of Commerce, Services, and Tourism of Mexico City, an economic impact of up to 1.861 billion pesos is estimated from BTS concerts in the capital, reflecting the band's impact in the country. The South Korean band has visited Mexico on three previous occasions. Their first concert was in 2014, then they returned in 2015 and later in 2017. During that period, BTS has only performed in Mexico City."
