BTS frenzy! - Thousands of ARMYs queue for official tour merch ahead of sold-out Mexico City concerts

"Thousands of BTS fans lined up in Mexico City on Wednesday to buy official merchandise ahead of the band's first ARIRANG tour concert in the capital. Footage shows fans arriving at sales points near the GNP Seguros Stadium, with some also gathering around stalls selling concert T-shirts, caps and other tour items. From early morning, ARMYs began forming long queues at official merchandise points set up around the venue and in authorised shopping malls. Demand was high for items including light sticks, T-shirts, hoodies and exclusive tour accessories. "Right now, they're selling official BTS merchandise. And yes, there are a lot of people - we had to get here very early," said a fan who travelled from Valle de Bravo. "We woke up at 3 am. We arrived at 10, and there was already a long line. We still haven't made it inside," she added. The queues quickly turned into their own pre-concert event, with fans organising themselves by number as they waited for a chance to buy official goods. "I am number 2,266, so it's chaos," said a fan. The event promoter said authorised sales points and controls around the stadium are aimed at reducing unofficial merchandise sales. Local reports said some items sold out within hours of sales opening. "If this isn't love, I don't know what is," said another fan, describing the atmosphere among the BTS fanbase. Earlier in the day, BTS made an appearance at the National Palace after Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum contacted South Korean President Lee Jae-myung to request more BTS concerts in Mexico, following huge demand from fans. Mexico City officials and business groups are expecting a major boost from the concerts. The National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism estimates the shows could generate up to 1.861 billion pesos (roughly $110 million) for the capital. BTS have performed in Mexico three times before - in 2014, 2015 and 2017 - all in Mexico City. Their return marks another major moment for one of the world's biggest K-pop acts and one of Latin America's most passionate ARMY communities. "
