"His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei arrived on the Philippines' Cebu Island on Wednesday to attend the 48th ASEAN Summit and related meetings. Scheduled to run from May 6 to 8 under the theme 'Navigating Our Future, Together', the 48th ASEAN Summit will focus on strengthening regional maritime security, energy sufficiency and disruptions to the supply chains caused by Middle East conflict. The summit marked a key moment for the Philippines - it is the first leaders-level meeting with Manila as 2026 chair."
