Reviewing the new light-alcohol wine that's making waves in Canada

It's not breaking news that low and zero-alcohol beverages have become increasingly popular in Canada, especially among younger generations. More and more are turning to alternative options, but customers still expect the same great taste and flavour. Laylow is a new light option that's bringing wine lovers the same big, bold flavour they love without sacrifice. Lower in alcohol, sugar, and calories, it's crafted with just 6.5% ABV, 80 calories, and 1g of sugar per serving (188mL). Hitting the Toronto shelves with two wines: Crisp Rosé and Pinot Grigio , Laylow has given me the chance to have my own taste test, and let's just say the results were ten-out-of-ten. So, sit back, relax, and dive into Laylow wines with me. Laylow Crisp Rosé I started off this adventure with a glass of Laylow Crisp Rosé, which I enjoyed feet-up on the couch with my go-to reality TV show. I paired it with the favourite after-work snack, a brie-heavy cheese plate. The creaminess of the cheese and the wine's strawberry and watermelon notes were just the pairing needed to make a Tuesday night veg-out feel a bit more special. Relaxing throughout the episode, I found the Laylow Crisp Rosé to be crisp, fresh, and big on flavour without overloading on the sweetness. While the flavours were bold, this wine was truly light and didn't leave me feeling weighed down after. Laylow Pinot Grigio Night two was all about the Laylow Pinot Grigio, which I surprisingly found to be just as crisp as the rosé. When it comes to white wines, I like mine to be very chilled and have an extra-refreshing sip, and that's exactly what I got with the Laylow Pinot Grigio. With just a touch of sweetness thanks to pear and white blossom notes, this is an easy-going wine I could see myself sipping on a summer's day, beating the heat with a few ice cubes. Equally perfect for afternoon park hangs or long weekend get-togethers, I'd say Laylow might have just made the perfect summer bottle. Easy-going sipping All in all, I'm pleasantly surprised with how easily Laylow's low alcohol wines mixed in with my weeknight routine. Never dominating the situation, it was simply light and refreshing, giving real summer vibes. Try it out for yourself and get ready to take it easy with Laylow Pinot Grig io and Laylow Crisp Ros é , now available at the LCBO.
