'We collected their remains in small bags' - Several rushed to Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital after alleged Israeli strike kills three Palestinian officers

"Three Palestinian officers were killed and several others wounded on Thursday in an alleged Israeli strike west of Gaza City. Footage shows ambulances racing to Al-Shifa Hospital as paramedics treat victims of the strike. The aftermath of the attack is also seen, with blood-stained debris and wreckage of tents belonging to displaced families. Fares Afaneh, Director of Medical Services in the Gaza Strip, said Israeli forces struck a civilian police station, killing two people and injuring several others. He added that most of the wounded were women and children, accusing the Israeli army of violating the ceasefire agreement. "The missile shook us violently. Four men were killed, and we collected their remains in small bags. What did this young man do wrong? He was only trying to provide for his children,” said Anis Jneid, who witnessed the explosion. Ahmed Abu Ibrahim, a displaced resident living in the targeted camp, said the strike was carried out without prior warning and highlighted the scale of the blast. "There was no warning or anything. They bombed us directly. If there had been ten people in the tent, they would all have been killed. […] Just look at the extent of the destruction and the shrapnel. We have nothing to do with the war. We are peaceful people," he said. According to reports, Israeli drones carried out several strikes near the Haidar roundabout west of Gaza City, killing three people and injuring several others. The Israeli army had not officially commented on the strike at the time of publication, but has repeatedly stated that its forces would continue operating under the terms of the agreement and act against what it describes as 'imminent threats'. Last January, U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff announced the launch of the second phase of Donald Trump’s 20-point plan to end the conflict in Gaza, which includes moving from a ceasefire to disarmament, forming a technocratic administration, and beginning reconstruction. War broke out in Gaza on October 7, 2023, after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing 1,139 people, most of them Israeli civilians, and taking more than 200 hostages. In response, Israel launched a large-scale military campaign in the Gaza Strip, including airstrikes and a ground offensive, which had killed 72,826 Palestinians and injured 172,520 others as of the time of publication."
