KSA praised for helping Pakistan meet energy needs

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and regional stability, and acknowledged Pakistan’s continued efforts towards fostering stability in the region. Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They discussed matters of mutual interest and agreed on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. During the meeting, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continued support in meeting Pakistan’s energy requirements. He particularly acknowledged special treatment accorded to Pakistan in petroleum supplies, which has significantly contributed to addressing Pakistan’s energy needs during present challenging times. The Saudi Ambassador reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in addressing its energy security challenges and assured continued cooperation in this regard. It was also noted that during recent engagements between both the countries at technical level, the consultations are making positive headway for long term cooperation. Both sides are also working closely to explore various refinery upgradation/investment projects. The Minister reiterated Pakistan’s desire to further deepen its strategic energy partnership with Saudi Arabia especially Aramco and appreciated the Kingdom’s longstanding support and cooperation.
