"Clashes erupted in Tirana on Friday as an anti-government demonstration turned violent near the Interior Ministry. Footage shows protesters clashing with riot police, as officers deployed water cannons and tear gas to disperse the crowd. Some demonstrators can be seen throwing pyrotechnics and Molotov cocktails at police lines. The rally, organised by opposition Democratic Party leader and former prime minister Sali Berisha, began as a silent march from the Prime Minister's Office toward the Interior Ministry, where police blocked further movement with a security cordon. Berisha said protests would continue in the coming days. According to local police, three officers from the National Security Force were injured during the clashes and taken to the hospital for treatment, and three protesters were arrested following the incidents. The opposition demands a technical government to guarantee free and fair elections, accusing the ruling administration of corruption and electoral manipulation."
