ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday paid rich tributes to armed forces on the completion of one year of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, saying the operation marked a historic response to Indian aggression and demonstrated Pakistan’s military strength and national unity. In his message on Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq, the Speaker said the operation was successfully carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and military leadership headed by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, with all armed forces displaying exceptional professionalism and coordination. He praised the Pakistan Army, Air Force, and Navy for their performance during the operation, claiming key enemy installations and defence systems were neutralized. At the same time, modern cyber warfare strategies also rendered enemy communication systems ineffective. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reiterated that Pakistan is a peace-loving country but will never compromise on its sovereignty, stressing that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains central to regional peace and stability. He also termed India’s move regarding the Indus Waters Treaty as “water terrorism”. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah said the operation reflected the professional excellence of the Armed Forces and reaffirmed the nation’s unity in defending the country against any threat.
