"Personnel from the Mexican Navy Secretariat (SEMAR) seized a vessel with 26 bundles of cocaine off the coast of the state of Guerrero and arrested two foreigners after a chase in the Pacific Ocean. This occurred following investigative work that allowed them to locate and track the vessel from 361 nautical miles south-southwest of Acapulco, Guerrero, to its arrival on land at the coast of Arroyo Seco, in the municipality of Petatlán. The images released show SEMAR personnel deployed in the coastal area, awaiting the landing of a helicopter. Additionally, a member is seen transporting one of the secured bundles to the aircraft. The operation involved surface, air, and land units. With this action, a total of 89 bundles of drugs have been secured in four maritime operations in one week. The seized cocaine adds to the more than 65.5 tons secured by sea during the current administration of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. The Navy Secretariat stated that these actions are part of the permanent maritime, air, and land surveillance operations carried out by the Mexican Navy to inhibit illicit activities in national waters, as well as to strengthen the rule of law in Mexican marine areas."
