"Hundreds of soccer fans gathered this Saturday around the Palace of Fine Arts in downtown Mexico City to exchange stickers from the 'Panini World Cup 2026' album, which has been on sale in Mexico since April 30. A few months before the start of the World Cup, the excitement of completing the Panini brand album has sparked a genuine sticker hunt. The images show families, young people, and children gathered with lists in hand, dozens of stickers, and nearly complete albums in search of missing pieces. Amid this celebratory atmosphere, fans expressed their good wishes for the national team in the World Cup and highlighted the cultural impact and enthusiasm of the event. "I hope and wish that the Mexican team does super well (...) I think it's the ideal opportunity to send the message that we are a very passionate, very determined country," said Danae Jimenez, a collector. Oscar Alvarado, another participant, considers that this sticker exchange activity is already a tradition that has marked generations. "I'm very excited because the experience is different now, because I share it with my son, and that has given it a completely new flavor, and it makes me excited as if I were a child," added the collector. Among the most sought-after images are Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappé, as well as historical legends like Diego Maradona, Hugo Sánchez, and Pelé. While collectors gather at Bellas Artes to complete their sticker collections, 15 monumental images of the main figures from each World Cup have been placed along Paseo de la Reforma, where passersby can take photos just days before the start of the FIFA World Cup 2026."
