Smoke and rubble - Three killed in strike on neighbourhood in southern Lebanon's Nabatieh

"Three Lebanese nationals were killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit a building in the Al-Bayad neighbourhood of southern Lebanon's Nabatieh on Saturday, according to local media. Footage shows the aftermath, with thick smoke rising over the destruction. First responders were seen assessing the damages and searching for survivors as ambulances transported the injured to a hospital. According to Lebanese media, the Israel Defense Forces targeted the Al-Bayad neighbourhood twice in less than an hour. Meanwhile, the Israeli military said it had carried out strikes on "weapons depots and a drone launch site used by Hezbollah to launch drones at Israeli soldiers operating in southern Lebanon". The army added that earlier in the day its forces targeted 'two rocket launch pads' in southern Lebanon, claiming one had fired rockets at Israeli forces in the south, while the other had launched rockets towards Israel. On Saturday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said that the total death toll since the outbreak of the current conflict between Israel and Hezbollah had reached 2,795, with 8,586 people wounded. Israel has designated what is known as the 'Yellow Line' in southern Lebanon to prevent residents from returning to areas under its control, in a repeat of a tactic previously used in Gaza. Israel has urged residents of around 80 towns in southern Lebanon not to return to their homes, stating that it continues to maintain a presence to counter what it describes as ‘terrorist activities’. Israel has indicated plans to establish a 'security zone' within Lebanon, extending from the border to the Litani River - covering around 10% of Lebanese territory."
