"Thousands of people rallied outside Downing Street in London on Sunday against what they described as increasing antisemitic attacks in the UK. Footage shows people holding placards bearing slogans such as ‘Protect our Jews. Stop the hate,’ 'Britain stands with British Jews’ and ‘Iranian and proudly Zionist'. Protesters can also seen carrying Israeli, UK, US, and pre-1979 Iranian revolution flags. A British Jew attending the rally, said there has been an uptick in antisemitic incidents in the UK after Hamas-led October 7 attacks in Israel. "We have large-scale protests, pro-Palestinian protests, where we have a lot of antisemitic incitement," said Tommy. He also urged the government to provide more police presence on the streets for the protection of the community. "Obviously, we want to see more action and we want them to act faster." Echoing the sentiment, another protester said that the government and British society needed to address the wave of antisemitism quickly. "If the government and if society as a whole doesn't come to terms with antisemitism quickly, I think you might find you hear more people talk seriously about leaving," he added. The protest comes after a string of attacks on synagogues and Jewish communities in north London. On April 29, two men, one reportedly in his 70s and the other in his 30s, were attacked by a knife-wielding assailant in Golders Green. Police said a 45-year-old man was later detained on suspicion of attempted murder. Earlier in April, a suspected arson attack was carried out at Golders Green memorial wall. In March, four Jewish charity-owned ambulances were set ablaze in the car park of a synagogue in the same neighbourhood."
