CEBU CITY, Philippines—Former presidential adviser on political affairs Jacinto “Jing” Paras said the House of Representatives may have the numbers to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte but the real battle will be at the Senate. "If they fail to prove her alleged offenses, their allegations against her, it is game over," he said in an interview in Carcar City, Cebu. Paras said senators, at the outset of the impeachment proceedings, could question the legality of the impeachment complaint itself and move to quash the case before a full trial proceeds. He said the camp of Duterte should focus on the Senate impeachment court, where they could challenge the evidence and witnesses presented against the vice president. Supporters of Duterte gathered for an orientation and political rally organized by Duterte Riders Team Philippines, Sara Philippines, and other organizations under the coalition Kampilan ng Mamamayan in Carcar. Paras served as presidential adviser during the administration of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
