No parity between Agniveers, regular soldiers on pensionary benefits: Centre to HC

The Union government has told the Bombay High Court that Agniveers are different from regular soldiers. This means families of deceased Agniveers cannot claim the same pensionary benefits. The government stated this in response to a petition by the mother of a deceased Agniveer. The Agnipath scheme is a short-term engagement for national security.
