THE San Juan City government on Monday warned motorists of possible heavy traffic along Pinaglabanan Street as around 50,000 Grab delivery riders are expected to troop to the FilOil Centre to claim their cash relief assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Mayor Francis Zamora said the payouts will be handed out Monday to Friday, from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. “We have prepared our police force, disaster risk reduction management personnel, emergency responders, and other city government authorities to ensure that this payout will be orderly and safe,” Zamora said. He said organizers are expecting around 10,000 Grab riders daily, or about 50,000 beneficiaries throughout the entire payout period. Zamora said the city government has coordinated with organizers to ensure the smooth and orderly distribution of cash assistance. The city government advised motorists to expect moderate to heavy traffic in the area and urged the public to plan their trips accordingly. Grab riders claiming the assistance were also encouraged to avoid bringing motorcycles because of limited parking space near the venue. The drivers can use alternative transportation if possible.
