Jarjouaa under attack - Israel strikes Southern Lebanon amid ceasefire agreement

"Footage filmed in Southern Lebanon's Jarjouaa on Monday shows the moment of the missile hitting residential area and smoke billowing in several places after that. Responders could also be seen rushing at site following the impact. According to the local media reports, Israeli military aircraft 'carried out a two-wave airstrike destroying a house in the town of Jarjouaa'.
On the same day, the Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that the total death toll since the outbreak of the current war on March 2 until May 11 had risen to 2,869 dead and 8,730 wounded. Earlier on Sunday, May 10, Israeli army issued a warning addressing the residents of Deir ez-Zahrani, Jarjouaa and Jezzine, stating: "In light of the terrorist organisation Hezbollah's violation of the ceasefire agreement, the IDF is compelled to act forcefully against it. The IDF has no intention of harming you." Israeli army has marked out what is known as the 'Yellow Line' in southern Lebanon, in a move aimed at preventing residents from returning to areas under its control. This measure is an extension of a tactic previously used in the Gaza Strip, where it designates areas under its control within ceasefire agreements and prevents civilians from entering them. Israeli army has also called on residents of some 80 towns in the south not to return to their homes, stating that it is continuing its deployment in those areas, justifying this by claiming to be confronting what it described as 'terrorist activities'. Israel indicates that it intends to establish a 'security zone' within Lebanese territory stretching from the border to the Litani River, which amounts to around 10 percent of Lebanon’s total area."
