Tropical Depression ‘Caloy’ has further weakened into a low-pressure area (LPA), and it has not been directly affecting the weather in the country, the state-run weather agency said on Tuesday. Weather specialist Veronica Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was estimated at 690 kilometers (kms) east of Catarman, Northern Samar. Meanwhile, she said, the other LPA remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 1,680 km east of northeastern Mindanao. “The two LPAs were seen to be no longer directly affecting the county as they were forecast to dissipate in the coming days,” according to the Pagasa forecaster. Pagasa said that Tuesday's weather will be generally fair in most parts of the country, but partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are likely in late afternoon or at night in some areas, including Metro Manila.
