PESHAWAR: Four people have died and sixteen (16) injured in houses walls collapse incidents due to rain and storm that struck various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said an initial damage report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Monday. The victims include two men, one woman and a child, while the injured comprise eight men, one woman and seven minors. The casualties have been reported from the districts of Mardan, Swabi, Malakand and Shangla. PDMA, district administrations and all concerned departments are on high alert and in close coordination with each other. PDMA has directed district administrations of all affected areas to provide relief to the victims at the earliest. The current spell of rain and strong winds is likely to continue intermittently until May 12, the authority said. PDMA’s Emergency Operations Centre is fully functional.
