MANILA, Philippines – The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on Tuesday called on the Senate to immediately convene as an impeachment court and proceed with the trial against Vice President Sara Duterte. In a statement, the CBCP urged senators to “abide by what the Constitution directs” as it noted that the House of Representatives has voted to impeach Duterte and will now be forwarding the case to the Senate.
