I did not kill anyone — Bato

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa on Tuesday said that he did not kill anyone as he appealed to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to protect Filipinos from being arrested by foreign courts. He denied allegations linking him to unlawful killings during the anti-drug campaign ordered by former president Rodrigo Duterte. “They know I did not kill anyone and I never ordered anyone to kill,” dela Rosa said, adding that the accusations before the International Criminal Court were “fabricated.” The senator said he led the anti-drug campaign, but he did not order unlawful killings. “My role was to lead the war on drugs. That does not mean killing everyone,” he said. The senator maintained that police officers were instructed to defend themselves only when their lives were in danger. He said that he is willing to face the charges against him but not in a foreign court. “I am ready to face any case as long as it is filed locally,” the senator said in an interview, stressing that he would “gladly answer” allegations before Philippine judicial authorities.
