Lucena City — Authorities in Imus City advised residents to take extra precautions after the heat index there reached a dangerous 44.9 degrees Celsius at 2 p.m. Tuesday. In a public advisory posted on its Facebook page, the Imus City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) warned that prolonged exposure to extreme heat may lead to heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
