Korea yet to identify type of 'airborne objects' involved in vessel strike in Hormuz

Korea has yet to identify the type of airborne objects that struck a Korean-operated vessel in the Strait of Hormuz last week, according to Cheong Wa Dae Tuesday. The presidential office disclosed the position in response to a local media report suggesting that HESA Shahed 136 attack drones may have been used when the Panama-flagged cargo ship HMM Namu, operated by major Korean shipping company HMM, was struck in the strait last Monday. "For now, the type of the airborne objects cannot be determined," the office said. "(The government) plans to identify who carried out the attack, the exact type and the size (of the objects) through further investigations," the presidential office said. The government has reportedly retrieved engine debris of the objects at the scene of the strike, which will soon be brought to Korea for analysis.
