Day 2 of the ‘espionage’ trial: Merdan Yanardağ and Necati Özkan presenting their defence

The second hearing in the ‘espionage’ trial is taking place today in Silivri. The indictment seeks 20-year prison sentences for Ekrem İmamoğlu, Necati Özkan and journalist Merdan Yanardağ. In the trial, which began yesterday, Hüseyin Gün, who testified under the provisions for active repentance, and the detained İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu had presented their defences. Today, the detained journalist Merdan Yanardağ and Ekrem İmamoğlu’s political adviser Necati Özkan will present their defences.
