63,377 pass licensure exams for teachers

MANILA, Philippines — The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) on Tuesday announced that 18,376 out of 32,796 examinees or 56.03 percent, passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers for the elementary level. They said that 45,001 out of 61,561 examinees (73.10 percent) passed the LEPT for the secondary level held in March. “It is further announced that of the 18,376 elementary teacher passers, 15,670 are first timers and 2,706 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 39,446 passers are first timers and 5,555 are repeaters,” the PRC said in a statement. With a score of 95 percent, the topnotchers of the LEPT elementary exam are Ann Kristine Dela Peña Danlag (University of Southeastern Philippines-Tagum), Jhade Vine Icot (Cebu Technological University-Danao), Lynn Heart Masamayor Luad (Cebu Technological University-Main), Marc Andre Cuizon Saberon (Cebu Technological University-Danao), Princess Willah Malingin Yamahon (Bukidnon State University), and Monette Lucernas Yap (Mindanao State University-General Santos City). Meanwhile, two examinees placed second — Jyra Trixie Marie Valiente Bartolo (Mindanao State University-Maigo Sat) and Lyza Mary Flores Florendo (Philippine Normal University-North Luzon). With a score of 94.40 percent, 26 passers placed third, while four examinees clinched fourth place (94.20 percent) and 62 passers placed fifth (93.80 percent). Four passers placed sixth (93.60 percent), while 27 passers finished seventh (93.40 percent), 66 passers clinched eighth place (93.20 percent), 16 passers finished ninth (93 percent), and 32 passers completed the top 10 (92.80 percent). Meanwhile, with a score of 95.80 percent, Rashil Rae Ramos Recote of Visayas State University-Baybay topped the LEPT for secondary teachers. In second place are nine examinees (95 percent), while 13 examinees finished in third place (94.60 percent). Five examinees placed fourth (94.40 percent), while 42 passers placed fifth (94.20 percent). Nine passers finished sixth (94 percent), 64 placed seventh (93.80 percent), 20 placed eighth (93.60 percent), 69 finished ninth (93.40 percent), and 20 completed the top 10 (93.20 percent). The LEPT for both levels was held on March 15.
