NBI chief says Dela Rosa arrest easier under previous Senate leadership

MANILA, Philippines — National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag said Tuesday that efforts to serve the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant against Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa could have proceeded smoothly if there had been no change in Senate leadership. Matibag made the remark a day after NBI agents failed to serve the arrest warrant against Dela Rosa inside the Senate premises, where the senator was later placed under protective custody by the chamber.
