"Streets in Beijing were adorned with US and Chinese flags mounted along major roads and highways, as footage shows, as the capital is being prepared ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit. According to officials familiar with the arrangements, Trump is expected to arrive in China on May 14 for a multi-day trip focused on trade relations, economic cooperation and wider strategic discussions between Washington and Beijing. The visit is expected to include high-level talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, alongside meetings with senior US officials accompanying Trump, including members of his economic and national security teams. The first day of the trip is expected to be marked by official welcoming ceremonies and initial bilateral discussions, followed by negotiations on trade, tariffs and regional security issues. A potential joint press engagement is also being considered at the end of the visit. Trump last met Xi Jinping in person in 2019 during the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan, where the two leaders held bilateral talks focused on trade tensions."
