"Radboud University Medical Centre (Radboudumc) in Nijmegen placed 12 employees in quarantine for six weeks over potential hantavirus exposure involving a patient infected with the disease. Footage filmed on Tuesday shows the hospital and staff on the premises. The precautionary measures were taken after blood and urine samples from a patient who was aboard the cruise ship Hondius and tested positive for the virus were not handled with appropriate safety measures over the weekend. "Due to the nature of the virus, this blood should have been processed according to a stricter procedure," Radbpidumc said in a statement on Monday. The patient at Radboudumc was among the three evacuated from Cape Verde to the Netherlands last week according to media reports. Two planes carrying the last passengers from rat-virus hit cruise ship MV Hondius landed at Eindhoven Airport in the early hours of Tuesday. The planes were reportedly carrying eight Dutch nationals, with other passengers set to continue the onward journey to their countries. Two more passengers from the ill-fated ship were revealed to have tested positive for hantavirus on Monday, bringing the total to seven. Three people died after travelling on the ship, which finally made port in Tenerife at the weekend - with passengers being repatriated. The WHO and other health officials have tried to calm fears, saying it was not a 'new COVID'."
