Etihad Airways flight cancelled at India's Chennai airport after fire breaks out on wing

An Abu Dhabi-bound Etihad Airways flight with 280 passengers onboard was grounded on Tuesday after a fire broke out on the aircraft's left wing ahead of take-off at an airport in the southern Indian city of Chennai, reported Xinhua, quoting multiple local media. All passengers were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. Reports quoting local officials saying the pilots noticed the fire while the aircraft was getting ready for departure, prompting an immediate halt to the flight operations and requisition of fire and emergency teams. The firefighters immediately brought the blaze under control, following which the flight was cancelled.
