MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area (LPA) formerly Tropical Cyclone Caloy may dissipate by Friday or Saturday and is not expected to directly affect any part of the country on Wednesday, the state weather bureau said. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA was last monitored some 495 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes. “We do not expect this to directly affect any part of the country, and we also do not see it intensifying again into a tropical cyclone,” Pagasa weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said.
