MANILA, Philippines – The remnant low-pressure area (LPA) of formerly Tropical Storm Caloy would remain within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), but is forecast to dissipate either Friday or Saturday, the national weather bureau said on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the other LPA, which lingered for days outside PAR, has already dissolved, weather specialist Chenel Dominguez of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. While the LPA inside PAR would no longer affect any parts of the country, it was expected to dissipate in the coming days, Dominguez said. In the next 24 hours, Pagasa said that most parts of the country would experience generally fair weather. However, it said that Metro Manila and the rest of the country would have localized thunderstorms, bringing partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated rain showers.
