A Japanese former child care worker wanted in his home country for alleged sexual abuse of young children was arrested by Philippine authorities on Tuesday in Cavite, police said. An arrest warrant for the 42-year-old man has been issued by the Nagoya Summary Court in Japan on suspicion of abusing at least three children aged 5 and 6 in the northern main island of Hokkaido in 2018, according to a Philippine police report and related documents seen by Kyodo News.
