Dela Rosa on peers' surrender call: Don't be too eager to have me jailed

MANILA,  Philippines— Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa on Wednesday rejected the call of some of his colleagues to surrender, saying they should not be eager to put him in jail. On Tuesday, five senators—Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Panfilo Lacson, Risa Hontiveros and Bam Aquino—filed a resolution, urging dela Rosa to “voluntarily surrender to the proper authorities and seek judicial remedies in accordance with the Constitution and applicable laws and rules.” Though he has yet to read the resolution, Dela Rosa said he was aware that some of his colleagues want him to surrender. “Mamaya na, mamaya na, […]...
